A yearly trip for us, at Greenfield Leisure, is to travel out to various holiday parks and caravan sites to install paths with built in fitness activities to help promote fitness across the country. This year we had the pleasure of travelling to Thornwick bay caravan holiday park, owned by Haven. This is out at Flamborough Head so there’s some lovely scenery surrounding the area, although it can be cold and windy in the early part of the year!
An ever-growing popular item for the playground are the ball chutes, which are a simple idea that can branch into multiple games. Children often like to use these in their break time activities because it’s a new way to bring in a different aspect of using a ball. These type of ball activities diversify the catalog of ball games available in the playground.
When preparing for a large area, everything needs to be taken into consideration, but first of all, the plans! The idea for the holiday park was a long, snaking path, that followed the perimeter of the area for avid runners and fitness enthusiasts to enjoy. This was also to be accommodating for other holiday goers too, who maybe just wanted to walk down the coast side for the scenery, or to use provided Segway’s to explore the area.

At Haven Caravan Site, Haggerston Castle we created a fitness area with a natural solution. Logs have been crafted together to form various pieces of equipment such as our Slalom Walk. They’re a great addition for any large areas that require something to break up the monotonous journey from start to finish.
It was a gloomy start with shining expectations on the build up to The Rotherham Show. With all the time and effort being spent into the preparation for the weekend, the rainy start dampened our metaphorical campfire. Heads held high, we came to set up with 2 vans filled with equipment ranging from grass samples to picnic tables.

Proving to be an increasingly popular product for schools, playground markings are a must-have for any area that needs a bit of colour and vitality. At St Anne’s school in Liverpool, we took pride in placing these markings and improving the play time experience for kids and teachers alike.
At Owlerbrook, we utilized our latest sand-blasting equipment to remove some of the old markings on the floor. This apparatus is not limited to the floor or markings though, we have popularly used this to remove graffiti from walls as well.
