Here’s another artificial grass job we did with the high quality standard of work we produce, following the same procedures throughout. Unlike fitting a carpet we have to actually do some form of digging here to get the border round.
Clearly seen in this picture you can get a good look at the wooden border we put around the area. The edge of the grass gets tucked into this area, as well as nailed, to ensure proper fitting. The area is filled with MOT type 1 stone and then crusher run, which are both compacted down with a wacker plate. Grit sand is then spread evenly across the top for a level surface.
Weedproof membrane is laid out in sheets and hammered in place. This prevents any sunshine getting through in order to stop plants growing through below the artificial grass. Although, water can still get through it, no puddles are created.
The artificial grass is then put in place and securely fastened down. The grass does allow drainage and lets water go through, and is soaked up in the underlay of stone and sand. Kiln dried sand is power brushed in to keep the grass standing tall.
